Political

I didn’t know how else to title this piece. We had an office meeting this morning and decided that we had to make a place for political opinion on this domain because political opinion is not only a big part of who we are, but also a big part of middle age concerns. As you grow older and less able to defend yourself against government decisions, you grow more and more concerned about the who, what and how of government.

That being said, I opened my emails this morning and found a link to this video from one of our children. I’m not sure which brought a larger tear to my eye; the video images combined with the song, or the fact that the branch of our family tree it came from was one we thought of as hard-core conservative dare-I-say Republican. I used to be one, too, but the Bush regimes changed that.

Maybe we should give Bush a little credit for something – he might be the biggest motivational force of this decade, turning the tide back to democracy right here in this country. I can feel it tipping back in that direction.
